N. Billerica, Massachusetts (April 2004) - Radio Waves, Inc., The Leader in Microwave Antenna Innovation, announced their support of the potential new spectrum allocation in the 3.6 GHz band. Today the FCC moved closer to opening up new spectrum for wireless broadband services aimed at rural areas. In its monthly meeting, the commission voted to begin making rules for wireless broadband operation between 3.65 GHz and 3.7 GHz. The proposed rules are aimed at wireless Internet service providers (WISPs) looking to broaden their backhaul and access in "sparsely populated areas," according to the FCC.
Andy Singer, General Manager of Radio Waves stated “Radio Waves supports this new allocation for WISPs in the 3.65 to 3.70 GHz band and in fact we now have antennas ready to ship that cover these frequencies. We want users of this broadband spectrum to know that Radio Waves is ready to support their deployments in this new band.” Radio Waves offers both sector and panel antennas that cover the 3.6 GHz band.
