Mobile Antennas
For mobile applications such as newsgathering vans, Radio Waves offers low-profile, offset-fed antennas. The reflectors are constructed from honeycomb fiberglass material, providing extreme strength in a lightweight package. The feeds feature remote switchable polarization. The switching is accomplished using solid-state technology, which offers higher reliability than the common electro-mechanical designs. These antennas are designed for bands from 2 to 15 GHz, and are available as single or multiband models.
For applications involving COFDM technology, omnidirectional and sectorized antennas can be deployed in a mobile application. The omnidirectional antennas cover single broadcast bands, and are extremely small and lightweight offering a mobile solution without the need for a telescoping mast for the antenna. Sector antennas offer a higher gain approach and are available in single and dual-band models.
For airborne applications, Radio Waves offers a selection of antennas for helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. Working with industry leaders in the airborne microwave industry, Radio Waves has developed antenna systems that feature a combination of omnidirectional, hemispherical, and sectored antennas. These antennas provide airborne coverage for news stories or surveillance purposes.
